Hunting

 

Truly a hunter’s paradise! Hunting on Hardscrabble Mountain is available October and November. Wildlife is abundant. There are large deer and elk populations, bear and mountain lions.

Trails

 

Hardscrabble Mountain area includes approximately 24,000 acres of public land open for outdoor recreation activities such as mountain biking, motorcycle riding, hiking, hunting, ATV and 4x4 driving. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fishing

 

40-acre Sylvan Lake is the perfect place to rent a boat and catch the big ones! Sylvan Lake State Park is open year round. It's a great spot for picnicking, hiking and outdoor photography at the foot of the Rocky Mountains.  

 

Brush Creek, Gypsum Creek and Sweetwater Lake also offer brook, brown and rainbow trout as well as kokanee salmon fishing.

 

 

 

Rafting

 

Glenwood Springs has a variety of whitewater rafting opportunities for all ages and experience levels.
